Overview of Changes in Arbitrazh (Commercial) Procedure Law for Global Arbitration Review

Moscow, 18 October 2019 — The past few years have brought considerable to arbitration in Russia as arbitrazh (commercial) procedure laws went through a major reform that was intended to modernise the existing legal framework by bringing it in line with the UNCITRAL Model Law on International Commercial Arbitration.

Overall, the reform has had a rather mixed reception in the Russian arbitration community, with some calling it nothing short of failure.
