BGP Litigation announces appointment of a counsel for its Family Law and Estate Planning Practice. The position is to be taken by the Practice’s Senior Associate Gayane Shtoyan.
Advocate and mediator Gayane Shtoyan provides legal support for family conflicts, including protection of the rights of minors and victims of domestic abuse, acts for Principals in the ECHR, and specialises in dispute resolution as per the 1980 Hague Convention on the Civil Aspects of International Child Abduction.
Gayane also provides legal support for enforcement in the Russian Federation of foreign court rulings.
Gayane’s professional interests encompass economic and civil disputes, arbitration and criminal proceedings. She cooperates with leading Russian higher educational institutions, trains advocates on further education courses organised by the Federal Chamber of Advocates of the Russian Federation, and founded the “Children have a right to have the right” project, under which lawyers help recover children unlawfully abducted by one of their parents from the country where they usually live to other countries.
“Appointment of Gayane Shtoyan as a Firm counsel is an inevitable step in her career as one of the country’s best specialists in international family disputes and protection of the rights of minors. Professionalism, engagement and inventive approaches to fulfilling complex tasks characterise Gayane’s work on client cases. I have always seen the development of the Practice precisely in its people and the cases they handle. So I have aimed, right from the start, to bring together the best team of family law lawyers capable of providing comprehensive support to our principals in all aspects of their private and family lives. And I am delighted that Gayane has become an indispensable member of our growing team”, notes BGP Litigation Partner Victoria Dergunova, who heads the Family Law and Estate Planning Practice.
