BGP Litigation announces the launch of its real estate and construction practice.

The practice will focus on handling land law, real estate and construction projects for both companies in the industry and other businesses that require advice in this area. It will focus on, among other things, legal support for projects in various industries, real estate transactions, and complex land and lease disputes.

The practice will be headed by Counselor Alexey Koulagin. Prior to joining BGP Litigation, Alexey was a leading lawyer of Pepeliaev Group in land, real estate and construction law, where he advised Russian and foreign companies on industry issues, supported major construction projects at all stages of construction, conducted due diligence of real estate, supported real estate transactions, managed industry projects, as well as supported mining projects and advised clients on environmental issues. Alexey has, among other things, extensive experience in managing the legal function in large real estate development and construction companies, as well as experience in an auditing company.

Among the projects Alexey has worked on are: supporting the reconstruction of Domodedovo Airport (Moscow), Ugolny Airport (Anadyr), supporting the construction and commissioning of the multifunctional complex Hotel Moskva, due diligence of assets involved in the development of an oil field being acquired by a major oil and gas company, providing support in connection with an incident at the site of a client (a Russian mining and metallurgical company) that resulted in one of the largest oil spills in the history of the Arctic region.

As part of his work at BGP Litigation, Alexey will also support projects related to subsoil use and the need to comply with environmental legislation.
