From the very foundation of the Firm, the BGP Litigation lawyers have seen social projects as an important part of their work and have actively helped both individuals and companies. One of the key achievements in the development of the Firm’s corporate social responsibility is the creation of the “Lawyers for Kids” Foundation that protects the children who find themselves in a difficult situation.
BGP Litigation has become one of the pioneers of Russia’s first platform for pro bono legal services, Legal Charity. The Firm’s lawyers regularly take part in the Legal Run marathons.
In each of the projects, the BGP Litigation team has been involved directly, rendering legal services free of charge or for the minimum possible fee. Learn more about our pro bono work below.
BGP Litigation has established the “Lawyers for Kids” Foundation to protect the welfare of children who find themselves in a difficult situation. The Foundation aims to reinforce the legal position of children in their families and in the society at large as persons especially vulnerable to human rights violations.
Even before the creation of the Foundation, the Firm’s lawyers had been defending children pro bono for many years.
BGP Litigation is an avid supporter of mass sport and in cooperation with Russia Loppet is helping the company reduce its tax and legal risks in holding sports events.
One of the areas of focus in our work with Russia Loppet is the draft of the amendments into the Federal Law “On Physical Culture and Sport”, as well as draft proposals for the development of mass sport that we have prepared and submitted to the specialised committee of the Federation Council.
BGP Litigation has not only sponsored, but also actively participated in the charity runs organised by Legal Run since 2015. Every year, the employees of Russian and foreign law firms, in-house lawyers, law students and law school teachers run together for charity. The Firm’s partners are active participants of marathons globally, but Legal Run will always be a special run for us.
Legal Charity is Russia’s first platform for interaction between law firms and charities aimed at offering pro bono legal assistance to people. BGP Litigation was one of the first law firms to join the project, as the platform’s values are very close to the pro bono projects implemented by the Firm.
As the first joint project, BGP Litigation assisted a charitable foundation that is a member of the platform.
The BGP Litigation’s Life Sciences & Technology practice has rendered comprehensive legal support to the Association of Developers and Users of Artificial Intelligence in Medicine “NDMK” on establishing an experimental legal regime in healthcare. In particular, we have suggested an alternative simplified procedure for introducing AI-based software used for medical purposes.
