Alexander has vast experience of both working with the customs authorities and advising clients as a consultant and attorney on customs and foreign currency regulations, international trade, trade restrictions, certification of goods and anti-counterfeit protection of product brands, resolution of customs disputes, as well as white collar criminal defence with respect to customs offences. Prior to joining BGP Litigation, for more than 10 years Alexander worked at the Customs Law practice of the international law firm BCLP, where he headed the Group for Customs Disputes Resolution. Alexander participates in the work of business associations and their customs committees, as well as collaborates with industrial associations. He also possesses the experience of promoting legislative initiatives. In particular, he represented perfume and cosmetics companies before the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation and other state authorities with a view to implement a project for marking and achieving traceability of goods.
